Please Note: These Headliners (inside roof covers) and Headliner/Sun Visor Kits only fit 1961 Mercury Comet 2-Door & 4-Door Station Wagon Model 71. To determine the Model Number of your vehicle check the ID plate on the driver's side door jamb.
Important Notes: Hardware for headliners and sun visors is not included. Headliners do not include bows nor bow chrome, and sun visors do not include bars nor mounting brackets.
Original Material(s): Tier Grain Vinyl is factory original headliner material for this Mercury Comet model year.
Additional Material Note: Some Mercury vehicles were made with Sequin Grain Vinyl. This pattern vinyl is not available, so Basketweave Vinyl is a suggested substitution for that material.
Headliner Only: You will receive a ready-to-install headliner; no sewing is required for the headliner. You will also receive extra matching material to allow you to re-cover your sun visors; sewing will be necessary to re-cover your sun visors.
Headliner and Sun Visors Kit: You will receive a ready-to-install headliner and ready-to-install sun visors. No sewing is required for either product.
Please Note: The 1961 Comet Wagons were manufactured with two different Headliners. One type has a 13 Inch "second-from-front" headliner panel, and the other has a 9.5 Inch "second-from-front" headliner panel. In order to determine which one is needed for your Comet, take a quick measurement of that "second-from-front" panel and choose from the 2 Headliner or Headliner/Sun Visor Kit options below. If you have any question about which Headliner is right for your automobile, please contact us for assistance.
How to measure the second-from-front headliner panel: Measure from the 1st bow seam to the 2nd bow seam, where the 1st bow seam is the bow closest to the windshield.

This headliner is offered in Tier Grain Vinyl and Basketweave Grain Vinyl. Tier Grain Vinyl is a factory original headliner material for 1961 Comet wagons. If your original used the Sequin Grain, which is no longer available, Basketweave is the industry-standard substitution.
